Ioannis Vernikos holds a BSc (2019) and a Phd (2023) from the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications, University of Thessaly His PhD thesis is entitled “Human Activity Recognition under Occlusion”. He has worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National Center for Scientific Research – “Demokritos” (2019-present), and as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Thessaly (2023-today). He has been involved in several R&D national and european projects with the National Center for Scientific Research – “Demokritos” (2019-today) and the University of Thessaly (2020-2021). Moreover, he has received a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (2022-2023). He has 5 publications in international scientific journals and 13 publications in international scientific conferences. His research interests lie in the areas of computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
